Yellow Arrow Film, Inc. is an arts and media collective established in 2007 that is based out of Charlotte, NC with offices in Asheville, NC and Brooklyn, NY. Our creative focuses include a wide variety of design and creative-based practices including:

Film/Video  (music videos, documentaries, narrative and experimental)
Fine Art  (collage, photography, drawing, painting and graffiti)
Design  (graphic, set and costume)
Additional Creative Practices  (scoring, storyboarding, special effects, event planning)

Along with a wide variety of skill sets that can be employed on any project we work on, our team has years of experience working in commercial and creative filmmaking, fine art exhibition and higher education in film and art. A goal of our company is to continue exploring and incorporating these elements and modes of thinking into our constantly expanding body of work. All members of our team are dedicated to creating meaningful and innovative work with each project we are a part of, each having received degrees in the arts including film, photography, ceramics and media design.

For productions, our company is equipped with a wide variety of industry-standard equipment that we are able to balance with expert knowledge to offer the specialized support your project demands. Yellow Arrow Film is:

William S. Davis
is a filmmaker and artist who works in the cinematic fields of video art, music video, documentary and narrative film. Davis is also a writer, musician and fine artist, his various works having been displayed in North America, Europe and Asia. Davis is currently a professor in film production, history and theory at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and The Art Institute of Charlotte. He was born and raised in North Carolina and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bradlee Crawford Hicks has worked on corporate videos for the International Copper Association and award-winning short film projects and music videos with Yellow Arrow Film. He began studying film while in graduate school for Sculpture at the Yale School of Art, and has continued to work as both a filmmaker and internationally exhibiting Artist, including writing and directing a series of theatrical works at avant-garde theater pioneer Richard Foreman’s ‘Ontological Theater’ in New York. Since 2009 he has been involved in many of the creative processes of Cape Spin: An American Power Struggle, a feature documentary about the fight over a wind farm in Nantucket Sound. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Nathan Jordan is a graphic designer and web designer who currently works as the Brand and Design Manager for Earth Fare, Inc. and is the President of Nathan Jordan Creative. He received his degree in Graphic Arts prior to his current employment, and he has served as an art director for small design firms, publishing companies and a fortune 50 corporation. Along with his current employment, Jordan works as an published and exhibiting artist and designer with a repertoire that includes album artwork, skateboard designs and fine art for gallery exhibitions. He currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina.

Erik Murphy
was born in the Bicentennial year in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Film and Video Production. Around this time, Murphy worked as Albert Maysles’ personal assistant, traveled 8,000 miles in 2 weeks while filming a storm chasing documentary, worked on documentaries for the Discovery Channel, and rode a bicycle over 2,000 miles from the Badlands to San Francisco. From there he worked in the visual effects department for The Patriot. Murphy began working as a production assistant on hundreds of tv commercials and feature-length films eventually working his way up to the grip, electric and rigging departments, all while continuing to shoot numerous low-budget films. After receiving recognition for his lighting and camera work, Murphy was given the opportunity to work as a professional camera operator and cinematographer, both of which he now continues make a living doing. In the last few years, Murphy has traveled the world shooting documentaries, television shows and music videos. He currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rusty Sheridan is a former NC Senate candidate and air conditioning repairman. He enjoys watching films and making films. When he’s not watching or making films, he enjoys teaching how to watch and make films at The Art Institute of Charlotte and at UNC Charlotte. He currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and 2 cats.
